Is it the end

Here are a few images of the final build of the map,  and a few developer comments on the map

Here are images based on each area of the map. Personally for me i feel that that best section of this map is the lobby section of the map.

Another item that i would like to make note of is the colour scheme for each section

Here is the colour scheme for the blue team spawn area and the basement section of the map

Looking good

As well as updating the size of the play space and came to a decision on the layout of the map, i have also started to implement art assets within the map, here's a look at two rooms that are in the map.

More elements will be added to the map as time goes on.

A size update

Here is some in-editor footage of the map

As you can see the map has been re-sized to being 1/3 smaller than the old version. this gives the map an overall better feel.

White Box, Blue Box

So I have started to develop a white box prototype of the UDK map that I am making. Here are a few images of what i have.

One problem that i have encountered with this white box is that it is to big of a play space as evinced by this image.

As such i feel that a re-evaluation of the maps size should be an important factor before moving on with the maps implementation

The art of a map

As the central art theme that I have for this play space is to be a modern semi-futuristic style i went out to look for certain ideas and art styles that could be employed to do this. Here are a few of the images that i have for inspiration

As well as these image i found on the poly count forums a UDK package that i feel meets the needs that i have for the art design  of the map

Fortunately this is available to download from the poly count forums, with credit for the assets going to Tor Frick

The start of something

So to begin, my plans for this project to to create a simple level using the Unreal Development Kit, this however could move to the Unreal Editor for Unreal Tournament 3 if needs to happen. The initial plan form this level is to be an objective focused multiplayer map, in the vain of a single capture the flag mode or other objective type game such as the example below.

I feel that i would like my map to accommodate between 16 - 32 players, however this amount will change with testing.

Here are some initial designs that i have for the layout of the map.
